Hello Summer! The Farmer’s Market season is in full swing, and I’m thrilled to share my exciting schedule with you.
This year, I’ve added a new location: the Chassell Farmer’s Market on Wednesdays from 3-6pm. I’m also returning to my hometown market at Lake Linden Park on Fridays from 4-7pm and spending my Saturday mornings at the Calumet Farmer’s Market from 10am-2pm. I can’t wait to see familiar faces and meet new ones in what promises to be a bustling summer market season.
I’ve been keeping an eye on social media and noticed a fantastic lineup of new vendors, returning favorites, and exciting community tables. A big shoutout to Moriah Goodall, the market manager at Chassell, Sarah Hope at Lake Linden, and the wonderful folks from: From the Ground Farmer’s Market Collective who manage the Calumet market. Thanks to everyone involved for keeping these markets funded, operational, and well-promoted.
Disc Golf Fun and Fundraising
During the off-season, I dedicated some time to the Lake Linden Disc Golf Course. Our team held our first fundraiser, which connected us with fellow disc golf enthusiasts and led to the creation of a non-profit group. This group aims to support local disc golf projects, tournaments, and course maintenance across the Keweenaw area. We’re highlighting local courses like Calumet Lake, the new course at Bucky’s, and the unique Constellation Farmstead course in Pelkie, which is connected to a charming local farm.
As a second-year disc golf enthusiast, I see the sport’s value for our community, tourism, and youth. I’ll continue to work on this project in my spare time, with huge thanks to Station Street Discs in Calumet for their support.
New Recipes on the Horizon
This year feels perfect for growth and exploring new recipes! While my focus is on cakes, I’m excited to expand my product line. How fun would cake donuts be? Or perhaps mini princess cakes? This creative journey is why I started this business, and I’d love your feedback. Look out for more polls, questions, and surveys to help me deliver what you’re craving and inspire me to think outside the box.
