“Springing Forward with Superior Cupcakes: A Sweet Update!”

Embracing Change: A New Chapter Begins at Superior Cupcakes!

Hello fellow cupcake aficionados! Can you feel the excitement in the air? As we bid farewell to winter and eagerly embrace the blossoming of spring, I’m thrilled to share with you the latest updates and adventures from Superior Cupcakes. Let’s dive right in!

1. Thriving at the Houghton Indoor Market:

The season kicked off with a bang at the Houghton Indoor Market, nestled within the charming Saint Ignatius Loyola Church. Collaborating with new vendors from the Chassel area has been an absolute delight, not to mention the warm reception from the Houghton community. Meeting curious students from Michigan Tech College and witnessing their eagerness to learn from our vendors was truly inspiring. And just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, we experienced our very first sell-out day of the entire winter season – talk about a sweet success!

2. Saturdays at Bare Legs Farm Stand:

Weekends have been nothing short of magical at the Bare Legs Farm Stand in Lake Linden. This being our inaugural year, I am immensely grateful to Kim Rak and her family for graciously providing me with a winter home. Our small group of vendors has formed into a tight-knit market family, and it’s been a joy to connect with interesting folks from Lake Linden, my own neighborhood! Recently, the Easter Egg Hunt at the nearby park brought in a wave of new faces, highlighting the strong bond between our market and the community.

3. Farewell to K.C Bonker’s:

As my pop-up stint at K.C Bonker’s in Hancock comes to an end, I reflect on the fun and challenges of this new sales venture. Dealing with the Department of Agriculture regulations has been a learning curve, but I’m hopeful to continue this event in the future once the details are ironed out. A big shoutout to Clay, the owner, and his wonderful staff for their support and the lighthearted atmosphere of the nostalgic toy shop.

4. Getting Creative with Orders:

With orders pouring in, I’ve been given the opportunity to unleash my creativity and craft delicious memories for our customers. Our crumb coffee cake has emerged as a fan favorite – a delectable blend of sweetness and warmth that’s hard to resist! While our online ordering option for pick-up at markets is still finding its footing, I’m eager to hear your feedback on how we can enhance this experience for you.

5. Embracing New Opportunities:

In the coming months, I’ll be taking a step back from the markets to focus on personal and community projects close to my heart. From collaborating on upgrading Lake Linden’s Disc Golf Course to joining the MIFA advocacy group, I’m committed to giving back and supporting the growth of our local community. As a firm believer in sustainability and accessibility to fresh, locally sourced food, I’m passionate about contributing to a brighter future for all.

6. Looking Ahead:

Before I sign off, I’d love to hear your thoughts! I’m considering launching a podcast or video series to delve into the technical side of baking and share my love for the craft. Additionally, be on the lookout for some exciting brand changes and new products in the pipeline, including heavenly cake truffles and a revival of our beloved mini loaf cakes!

As we embark on this new chapter together, I extend my heartfelt gratitude for your continued support and enthusiasm. Here’s to a season filled with sweetness, community, and endless possibilities!

Warm regards,
